• Are BIZON-contacts tested and approved for multilayer printed circuit boards?
  • Yes, by renowned test institutes for different manufacturers.
    General press-in contacts according to DIN IEC 60352-5 must be suitable for multi-layer-PCB.
    The BIZON-contact is very gentle to inside layer connections due to its special geometry and mechanics.

• BIZON-contacts have no separat insertion tip. Does this make any problems?
  • The insertion tip is part of the resilient contact area and not an addition part.
    Therefore, the BIZON-contact is very short. The big advantage is the low excess end on the circuit board.
    A good positioning is still ensured by a slender tip.The contact falls at least with the amount of his thickness into the hole.
    This pre-positioning is almost enough. Should be absolutely required a deeper immersion prior to pressing, this can be done also.
• Do BIZON-contacts create whiskers?
  • Because of the special geometry with defined contact points and adjacent open spaces no tin layers are set under pressure.
    For this reason no whiskers arise. However, the coating of contact and circuit boards should be whisker free or nearly
    without whiskers, otherwise whiskers arise without mechanical pressure. See Whisker
• Are BIZON-contacts suitable for MID?
  • Very good in fact. See MID
• Are SMD elements not at risk?
  • The BIZON-contact stressed out the PCB minimal.
    A specific safety distance of the SMD elements to the press-in holes is not required.
• Do I even have to make as a new manufacturer of a BIZON-contact a certification?
  • In general, yes, because the major customers, demand this for safety reasons.
    As a manufacturer of a press-in contact you will be responsible not only for the mechanical quality,
    but also for the electrical properties. This is the difference to a solder pin.
• How can I handle high currents on a standard printed circuit board?
  • If these currents are conducted outside of the board accurately.
    Massive power rails with press-in contacts can meet the requirements for the transmission of high currents
    for double-sided or multilayer PCBs with standard thicknesses in an excellent manner.
    The solderless press-in technology is safe, and very safe in temperature cycling.
    Safer as a solder joint.
• Who can get a license for the BIZON-contact?
  • Anyone. Because the licensor is not manufacturer, no conflicts of interest exist and the licensee remains
    independent of competitors.
• Why do I need a license?
  • There are many patents and applications for press-in contacts. The legal situation is very confusing.
    A license for a granted patent is therefore not only the acquisition of know-how, but also one that may be very valuable,
    legal protection insurance for the product.
• Who needs a license?
  • Who manufactures the BIZON-contact and brings in its own responsibility on the market that must have a license.
• What kind of support gets a licensee?
  • The licensee will receive full support in contact design, tool design and manufacturing up to a certified,
